ABSTRACT

Objective:To investigate the diagnosis and treatment of cancer patients in the prefectural and municipal hospitals in Sichuan province during the outbreak of 2019 novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) epidemic, and analyze the impact of the epidemic on the hospitalization and treatment of cancer patients, aiming to provide reference for the diagnosis and treatment of cancer patients by medical institutions in different provinces. Methods:The prefectural and municipal hospitals in Sichuan province were investigated in the form of questionnaire. Results:A survey was conducted in 37 prefecture-level large and medium-sized hospitals in Sichuan province, of which Grade 3A hospitals accounted for 78.4%. Among the investigated hospitals, the hospitals whose hospitalization index of oncology patients and radiotherapy index of radiotherapy patients were< 1 after the first-class response were 83.7% and 93.1%, respectively. Hospitals with normal or delayed chemotherapy within one-week consisted of 54.1%, and 89.7% of the hospitals received normal radiotherapy or delayed radiotherapy within one-week after the Spring Festival. After the second-class response, the proportion of hospitals with oncology patients and radiotherapy patients that increased after the first-class response was 78.4% and 79.3%, respectively. Conclusions:Under the guidance of the State Council, the Sichuan Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government, Health Commission of Sichuan Province, and the municipal health commissions at various levels and under the joint efforts of medical institutions and front-line medical staff from Department of Oncology, a majority of cancer patients admitted to prefectural and municipal hospitals in Sichuan province can receive active and effective treatment during the outbreak of COVID-19 epidemic.

ABSTRACT

@#The aim of the present study was to investigate the effects and mechanisms of lidocaine on lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-induced matrix metalloproteinase(MMP)-9 and MMP-2 activity in plasma, and the effects of lidocaine on LPS-induced acute lung injury(ALI). Mice were pretreated with lidocaine(2, 4, 8 mg/kg )for 30 minutes, and then treated with 10 mg/kg LPS(ip)for 12 h to induce ALI. The 7-day survival rate and lung wet/dry weight ratio of mice were monitored. Phosphorylation level of p38 was measured by western blot. The activity of MMP-9 and MMP-2 in plasma was evaluated by gelatin zymography. The results showed that pretreatment with lidocaine could significantly reduce the death rate of ALI mice as well as the lung wet/dry weight ratio in a dose-dependent manner and suppress the activity of MMP-9 and MMP-2 in plasma. Moreover, lidocaine also markedly inhibited LPS-induced upregulation of p-p38 in a dose-dependent manner. In conclusion, lidocaine alleviated LPS-induced acute lung injury by suppressing MMP-9 and MMP-2 activity.

ABSTRACT

The aim of the present study was to investigate the effects and mechanisms of quercetin on plantar incision-induced matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)-9 and MMP-2 activity, microglia activation and the analgesic effect of quercetin on plantar incision surgery-treated mice.Postoperative pain model was mediated by plantar incision surgery and Von Frey Hairs was used to test the mechanical pain threshold. The activity of MMP-9 and MMP-2 in spinal cord was evaluated by gelatin zymography. The marker of microglia ionized calcium binding adapter molecule 1 (IBA-1),phosphorylated p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase (p-p38 MAPK) was detected by Western blot. Results showed that quercetin (20,40,80 mg/kg,ip) significantly inhibited plantar incisioninduced mechanical allodynia and suppressed the activity of MMP-9 and MMP-2 in the spinal cord. Moreover, quercetin also markedly inhibited plantar incision-induced up-regulation of IBA-1 and p-p38 in spinal cord.In conclusion, quercetin may alleviate postoperative pain by suppressing MMP-9 and MMP-2 activity in microglia.

ABSTRACT

Through analyzing the problems of time, selection mode, research plan, and tracking review in the ethical review of scientific research projects, this paper put forward the corresponding countermeasures:standardized application procedures, diverse selection mode, standardized research plan, and strict tracking review. It aimed to improve the quality of ethical review of scientific research projects and improve the ethical review system.

ABSTRACT

Since the Beijing health and family planning commission promulgated the new medical technology management system,we have accepted and reviewed 14 key medical technologies in Beijing, such as resection of the skull base tumor (intracranial tumor outside communication),resection of intracranial important functional areas and large vascular malformation, renal vascular reconstruction technique, the technique of artificial joint replacement, coronary interventional diagnosis and treatment technology, etc.Through the existing laws and regulations requirements from medical new technology, the ethical review way, submit materials requirements and ethical review focus is analyzed, and combining with the experiences of our hospital in the medical technical review, aims to explore suitable for medical technology ethical review specification.
